Did you have a good summer?
Mike: Mines was boring.
Kevin: It was heartbreaking.
Are things busy?
Mike: Not really.
Kevin: Always busy.
How did you come up with the Knight Rider sound? Was it a conscious effort or was it more just how things happened when you two got together?
Mike: Both.
How did the vocal style come about?
Mike: Chatting online.
Did you ever try out other stuff together? Were you in other bands?
Mike: I'm in Paper Rainbow. It's ultra synth jazz.
Kevin: I was in a synth pop duo, Yabloki.
Do you ever tour? It seems like you play a lot of shows in and around LA, but does it ever take you around the rest of the USA? Or even out of it?
Mike: Not yet.
Kevin: We went up to north California a couple of times but since we both don’t own cars or moneys touring is difficult.
I read Knight Rider shows can get pretty wild. Something about throwing a chair around? Did it take a while to build up courage to take the project live?
Mike: No.
Kevin: It took for a couple of beers.
Were you always crazy on stage?
Mike: No. Yes.
Kevin: We’ve never played on stage.
What're your best/worst gig experiences?
Mike: Worst was at this bar in San Francisco and it was lame.
Kevin: This one time we opened for Dan Deacon and HEALTH, there were a bunch of people inside to watch us and the sound guy had us use a faulty channel for the drum machine so it was a fucking disaster but we sold a lot of cds that night. The Vermont house show was fun even though a knob on my pedal got sheared off.
You make weird videos, like CD-ROM. Is that just something you do when you're bored, or do you plan it out? You make them yourselves, right?
Mike: Planned. We make them and we had Bryan M help on CD-ROM.
Kevin: We plan to make a video for a particular song but they’re kind of situational.
It seems like the material you put out is all pretty DIY. I know one of your 3" CDs was out on a label called Narf Records, but do you make the other stuff yourself and just sell it at shows?
Mike: Ya. Sometimes we sell them at shows.
Is Barf records your self-released stuff?
Mike: Barf is Erin Allen from Child Pornography. He does Barf.
Do you think you'd like to be involved in a bigger scale release?
Mike: Yes.
Kevin: Yes.
Are there any big plans for Knight Rider's future?
Kevin: We have a new disc coming soon. It's gonna be a cockbuster.
Mike: I give sexy time now.
Are there any labels/bands/websites you'd like to rep?
Mike:
Barf www.barfrecords.tk
Narf http://www.narfrecords.com/
Child Pornography www.myspace.com/yhpargonropdlihc
Sean Carnage www.seancarnage.com
Bryan Magdaleno
Kevin:

Vim Crony www.myspace. com/vimcrony
Any words of wisdom or advice you'd like to end on?
Mike: No.
Kevin: Don’t major in art.
Thanks to Mike and Kevin for the awesome interview.
