Interview with Graham from Annihilation Time

So you just played SXSW. How was it?

It was full of drunken buffoonery. The whole thing was just a big joke/excuse for us to party. It was a whole lot more fun than we expected. We were kind of thinking it was going to be a major drag.

Who got you involved with that?

Tee Pee Records got us to play.

Anything new you discovered there?

Easy Action was killer. 3rd Eye Blind really tore it up so I was told.

How did you get on with the industry types?

Haha! No self respecting business man would make such a foolish mistake as to getting involved with us shitbags.

Have you guys been working on a lot of material since your last LP?

No. We move real slow with writing songs due to how boring our lives are. We have like 5 new songs.

As far as hardcore bands go, Annihilation Time have been kicking it for a pretty long while now. What're the biggest differences between now and when you were getting started?

Well it's been about 8 years sense we got started. Not a whole lot is different now. We still do all the work ourselves as far as booking and all that. Keep it on a strictly bro level. I guess it's easier to get shows and do tours nowadays. If you stick to your guns and just keep touring and doing shit for yourself, it's bound to get easy. I'm sure easy by our standards may not seem too easy by a lot of other bands'. I think that's a big reason why we can keep going and stay stoked. Its not like our early tours where we were eating out of trash cans and huffing spray paint out of paper bags, but its not to far off.

Is it still as fun as it always was?

For me it's just as fun, and in a lot of ways I can appreciate it more now. Playing guitar and travelling are the two big passions in my life. I'll sacrifice just about anything to keep doing what I love.

What does the future hold?

We are going to do our 4th LP some time this year, and we are going to release a live LP.

Any tour plans?

Next thing on the plate is Chaos in Tejas. Then Europe/UK in early June. Then probably another east coast tour, and in November we've got plans to do Australia and New Zealand.

Got any shoutouts?

Shout outs to Dan, Logan C-voc, Timmy, Steve at Tee Pee, Dave Sweetapple, Ray and Mondo, Robert Collens, Jasmine, Ian, ANS, Old Greg, Joe, Earthless, Kim Phuk, Easy Action, Saviours, Future Skulls, TNT screen printing.

Thanks Graham.
